Divus Augustus, died AD 14. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 35 mm, 27.46 g, 6 h), Rome, struck under Tiberius, 22-23. DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER Divus Augustus, radiate and togate, seated left on throne, his feet resting on stool, holding branch in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, altar. Rev. TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST P M TR POT XXIIII around large S C. BMC 74. CBN 50. Cohen 309. RIC 49. Attractive orichalcum surfaces. Somewhat smoothed and with faint scratches on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
